I must say I'm impressed by the way GM threw away the rule book with that V8 design though. Standard output is 310hp, 705Nm, and 68hp/l, what do Audi manage ?

Yes... The GM engine mainly targets packaging and inlet/exhaust tract optimisation but there's some other intersting stuff in there too (allegedly), yet to be announced.
