water pump belt
While tinkering under the van,Ihave noticed the water pump belt is slack. Can't see any obvious way of re-tensioning it like an ordinary fan belt.How is it done?

There is an M8 bolt on the top left-hand side of the alternator (13mm spanner) and also an M8 nut/bolt/washer arrangement below and to the right-hand side. Slacken these off slightly and tension to 15mm deflection on longest (top) section of the belt. Tighten top bolt and then bottom nut/bolt.
Some allegedly have a ratchet arrangement on the adjustment crescent. Ours (1989 DG) doesn't.
Required tools :- 13mm ring spanner,13mm socket on ratchet (or just another spanner) perhaps something to lever the alternator across ?
Required time :- less than it took to type this
(did this job earlier in the week so for once know what I'm on about
)
Cheers,Ian.
