GOOD DIESEL MECHANIC IN WEST MIDS ???

Post by "WEAZLECHIN" »

can anyone recomend a GOOD diesel mechanic in the brum area. there are plenty around yes, but most of them arent diesel minded :? my hgv mechanic is too busy to be messing around with 1y engines
it just needs a good tune as its using more fuel than it should after the timing belt jumped a few teeth.

I'll have a look at home for the details, there is one round the corner from Borsch electric (the washing machine/cooker place) in Digbeth, Birmingham. Never used them but they have been recommended

How did that happen ?

Let me know how you get on and what you have done please - im about to set the cam timing on mine - but i will need to take it to a specialist to get the injection pump timing and tappets sorted...

ringo, i was on my way to college when it just went sluggish and started smoking. i assumed i had holed a piston but when i looked the cam belt was loose so adjusted it (guessed), tightened the belt but it aint what it was :?
its due another belt anyway. and tensioner by the sound of it.

I've never had that happen, but I've changed a cambelt a few times. It is a case of locking the pump pulley and camshaft and then the fun of keeping the crank pulley lined up (that is the hardest part) The markings are all there, just a bit of patience. As for the pump timing, apart from locking the pulley I've never messed with. Yo need a dial gauge and some know how.

Just as I'm writing I've found the details of the place in Digbeth.

CES
77 Upper Trinity St
Deritend (Digbeth)
B9 4EG

0121 771 7420

They were recommended by a garage used to use. They do tuning, timing, injector testing, pump refurbs etc

Probably not cheap
