Low oil pressure 1600TD JX

Low oil pressure 1600TD JX
Just finished rebuilding my JX with brand new cylinder head and recon turbo. On start up all OK but after driving for 7-8 miles from cold the oil pressure warning light flashes on idle - below about 1000 rpm. As soon as the engine revs build the light goes out and stays out. Have replaced the pressure switch in the back of the head (twice) but no joy. Anybody any ideas?

Have you tested whether it is actually low oil pressure? How many miles has the bottom end done? It does sound like it could be worn bearing shells.
Whip the sump off, check the oil pump pick-up gauze isn`t full of cr*p, then it`s down to pulling off a few bearing caps and checking the bearing shells to see if they are worn (copper showing through the white metal), also worth pulling the oil pump down and opening it up to check if its worn as well.
Do`nt want to be running a new turbo with low oil pressure or it won`t last long
