Which wire for my liesure battery?!

Post by desmond »

Hi all, my first post, so a big Hello :)

I've had a bit of help installing my leisure battery for my T25 from a man with a Bay. It's all set to go, but we weren't sure which wire under the steering wheel we should connect the relay switch to?

So I have the relay there, I just need to wire it up to the correct wire under the steering wheel that will only charge when the engine is on.

Any help would be great. I have a multimeter btw and my van is an 81 T25 Air cooled Auto.

Cheers

Thanks for the welcome and the link kevtherev. That Wiki is really handy.

I've actually done everything, thanks to someone else helping. I've gone with the ignition switched method on this page:
http://www.kampenwagen.co.uk/split%20charge%20relay.htm

All I need to do is wire the relay up to the ignition switched wire. I've run the wire across to the steering wheel, but not sure which one to attach it to. I was hoping someone could maybe tell me which wire they hooked theirs up to, IE what colour or what not. I don't want to start cutting them all open and there are a couple going to the ignition switch.

Any advice of how to choose the right one would be great.

Thanks for your help.

you need to connect it to the light blue one that goes to the multiplug dashpod connector, this is the same one as the alternator it supplies the feed to battery warning light! hope you get it dorted and welcome to 80-90
