That EVIL not grumpy.. Didn't you check that radical Syncro concept on the site ? If I were a yank I'd say ' it rocks !'.

Their first link seems broken, went through it a month or so ago but didn't think to put it up here (we'll put it in the syncro links now)

A different idea for a syncro website - radical off-road mods along the lines of the Syncro-Mog? And ratings for parts suppliers.

Sucks ? How so ?

Most of us have non-std. mud-terrians of some sort for extra grip, some of us have modded suspension for handling/lift, so what's wrong with taking it further with modded swing-arms ? The guy is also hacking his bodywork for extra clearance, which a few in Europe have done and one I know in the UK is planning.

If he spends as much time building it as he's put into building the website and illustrations we'll look out for it around 2020.

There are so many more issues regarding driveshafts, CVs and construction of the vehicle that aren't covered it's incredible. If you want a Pinz or Unimog go buy one, rather than butchering a Syncro.

Well, that could mean all sorts of things, amongst them that he pays so much attention to detail that it'd take him ages to build his ideal syncro :?

He's also going very much for a new look - maybe trying to create what VW opr SDP might have done had they continued with the T3 Syncro for another 5 or 10 years.

yikes! I'm the yank in question ... I just discovered this lively debate, thought I'd shed some light: my daily driver [ http://www.vwvortex.com/artman/publish/ ... 1130.shtml ] turned out 'too nice' to really off-road, and I was jealous of my friends [syncromog, et al] who were going places I couldn't/wouldn't. The current project was a real beater, justifiying the radical mods. I'm busy working on it in my spare time [real job: owner of www.fuseid.com ], and am hoping to have it running by syncro-de-mayo, and/or NW Mogfest [August]. As mentioned, it's an 'experimental' vehicle, to test some ideas I - and others - have, and, a moving bill-board for syncrosource, which ultimately is a place where the best vendors - and wacky entrepreneurs - can expose their stuff. thanks to you all for your interest and please comment / keep in touch!
