BEST STUFF FOR PARTS WASHER?

Gonna make a parts washer out of a 99p B+Q bucket !

afetr the demise of my TD the engine mounts and sump are covered in thick oil and 3k miles worth of european sand/mud/"pooh" .
wanna scrub them before i put them on my new shiney engine. any ideas ? parrafin/petrol/diesel/kerrosene ? cheaper the better

gonna splash out on a can of spray on gunk then pressure wash em but wanna make sure they are sparkly ? also wanna clean pick up and oil pump spotless.

Just buy a big can of gunk...(fantastic stuff)

and put it in one of them trigger sprayers that the cleaner of the house uses...a lot cheaper

i did that with a lambretta i restored, i put the parts in a vat of petrol for a day or two, a toothbrush works well. wear some chemical gloves.

Paraffin works quite well. There's a grease you can get that cleans things up lovely... Elbow grease, thats it!

gunk it is then - will get one of the bigger (and cheaper) non aerosol cans and get a 99p plant sprayer from wilkos!!

litre of gunk was £4.99 from wilko - one of those pump/pressuriesed 1.1 litre plant sprayes was £1.49

Petrol is great but can melt some plastic containers, like my mums washing up bowl

and according to experts can melt you if you dip lit matches in it indoors - you read it here first you crazy kids!
