I put 15" mercedes steel wheels on mine with BF Goodrich Mud terrains. I always felt the original VW 14 " alloys looked a little 'lightweight' on my Tristar.
I like the merc steels with the VW black centre caps fitted, and you get a far wider choice of tyre to put on.

Little update.
The Tristar passed its MOT today
No real problems, just a couple of advisories (headlight loose etc).
It's had new fuel lines and filter, new brake lines, exhaust, battery, wheels & tyres and many other bits. Needed a little welding on 1 sill, but other than that its solid. Drives lovely
Gear selections are smooth and there's no prop whine. Steering feels solid too.
Anyway ill get a proper update with pics up soon.
Hi, Egg, you might see it on the road soon... im on hold with the insurance company as i type!!

What's a bucket exhaust... ?
PS. I agree that a RHD Tristar is something rare enough to be best kept original... but Stan wouldn't dream of putting a V12 in it, I'm sure !

Ha, it might be a squeeze

Im keeping it as standard as possible, i even wanted to keep the original 14" steels and wheel trims, but they were beyond hope and tyres are expensive for that size

Im in the UK jon, East Yorkshire.
Cheers
