Fitting a different engine
I am intending fitting a 1.9 td engine in place of the 1.9 petrol engine i currently have. Can anyone advise. I have had a look on the wiki, but not found enough info on this.

This is a common question and your best bet is to search through all the previous posts, I have not done this conversion myself but have fitted the 1Y engine.
As you will see from previous posts you will need most of the bits from a JX (1.6td) engine, such as sump, exhaust manifold, oil pick-up etc.
Look in the for sale section quick !!

The radiator is the same, the fan is more powerful, the original; diesels also have a wider cooling tunnel (differnt ody pressing)..
I think only the syncros need a different fuel tank
The coolant pipes are basically JX, one very expensive so get them off the donor.
Andy Simpson might help with a complete list of parts... you have to decide how you are going to turbo and do the exhaust, JX or AAZ style
The Brickayrd should have a fairly comprehensive list of changes...
Also with a TD, think oil cooling and think one or two instruments, oil temp is handy, boost and EGT if you're planning to pep it up a bit. Other decision is intercooled or not...
