beware! I replaced mine with a bog standard 5W blue led from maplins. You have to cut off the wires to length and, cos it's a diode, ensure that the connection is right, but I was astonished at the brightness of the 5 watt led. It made driving on mainbeam a nightmare, I was more dazzled by the dashlamp than by oncoming truckers, so i took it out. I tried to source a lower wattage blue led via maplins and a local really knowledgable electonics outfit ,but couldn't get one. I've ended up with a 1W green led which is still in a obscure pouch in my wallet, waiting to be fitted.

Hope this helps

i have plenty dash pods in stock and had already taken a diode out of one before i took mine apart.
it had only come out of the connection block to printed circuit, so no problem.

Vanjam - you and me both. Blue travels the furthest on the colour spectrum and oddly it was the last colour to be created in LED technology. I too was near blinded by the LED. Solution was to dip it in black paint!
