anyone ever had one of these not working? took my entire dash apart today to find the wee lightbulb thingy on 2 thin wires had fallen out of it's connections!

beware! I replaced mine with a bog standard 5W blue led from maplins. You have to cut off the wires to length and, cos it's a diode, ensure that the connection is right, but I was astonished at the brightness of the 5 watt led. It made driving on mainbeam a nightmare, I was more dazzled by the dashlamp than by oncoming truckers, so i took it out. I tried to source a lower wattage blue led via maplins and a local really knowledgable electonics outfit ,but couldn't get one.  I've ended up with a 1W green led which is still in a obscure pouch in my wallet, waiting to be fitted.
