Simon where did you get gtd nozzles, vw only list complete injectors and did you manage to get bosch ones. I don't trust euro parts i think they would just sell the normal 1.6td nozzles in place of the gtd ones.
Did you find anywhere with a stock of the VW washers who can make your 'Frankenjectors' for you ?
I have not looked into washers yet other than getting price off vw. I will try and find a bosch agent and see if they are available at a reasonable price. Also now need a left enigne mount as it gets in the way of my new turbo, i only took it off the road for a clutch and now its had wheels and tyres, bigger turbo, boost gauge, egt gauge, injector nozzles, pump head/plunger and cam plate, oil accumalator. I am saving a fortune in fuel bills by not using it though.

EGT? So it was you that rang Airworld the day before me? Peter there said, how come two T25 owners ring in 2 days? But maybe it was someone else.
Where exactly in the manifold are you placing your probe? In 2 minds, but think I've found the spot.
and any chance you can tell us about that oila ccumulator?

Was not me, i ordered mine online from i can't rember where, still waiting for it, i thinking of putting it on thr underside of the manifold, just need to see how big probe is and get the turbo and engine mount in place before i drill.
The oil accumulator i already had so i thought i may as well fit to cure the buzer going off on long fast right hand bends especially since its having a big power increase. Its a 1.5 litre cylinder with an oil connection on one end and air line and pressure gauge on the other with a piston between, oil is pump into cyl from engine when pressure is good compressing the air on the other side of piston, if engine oil pressure drops the air pressure forces piston back down keeping the oil pressure up untill the 1.5l has gone. It can also be used to prime engine before start up, there is a valve which can be switched off when engine is running and pressure is stored, when re started open valve and let the oil go, no more 2 second waits for oil light to go out in the mornings.
It is made by morroso (spelling?). On the silly hp beetle it saved the engine and turbo on lots of occassions due to melted/burst oil hoses (proper high pressure reinforced hydraulic hoses), it used to get a bit warm
... 10mm ? off a TDi ? Which one, a 1Z or AFN ? How hard was the swap to do ?
Andy
No gone 12mm,i just hope turbo moves eniugh air to burn the extra fuel. I have stripped pump ready but don't have new bit yet, there are lots of small bits and springs which will be fun when going together.
Had a new flywheel
Part no:028 115 269B
Was fitted to mk3 golf/vento/passat tdi's, golf g60's, various passat petrols from 88-96. It weighs aprox 9.5kg.
This is a different shape than the JX flywheel in that it has a large 2"band of extra weight on the engine side that fouls the metal plate between enigne and gearbox, this needs 16mm maching off to match rough dimensions of the JX wheel. Taking off the 16mm also brings the weight down to just below the JX wheel of 6.5kg. This is not as drastic as it sounds, its still just as thick as a JX wheel.
New cluch pressure plate
Part no:021 141 025F or FX if your dealer is daft enough to take a 1.6 one in place (hint leave it very very dirty, they won't touch it to look for numbers, they do not want oil under their finger nails or on their white shirts)
Was fitted to 2.8/2.9 VR6's and some 5 cylinder tdi's.
There are other plates that will bolt onto the flywheel, mainly tdi ones but this one has the highest holding pressure.
This needs 1 locating hole enlarging by aprox 2mm.
New clutch disc
Part no:025 141 031K or KX if your dealer is daft enough to take a 1.6 one in place (hint leave it very very dirty, they won't touch it to look for numbers, they do not want oil under their finger nails or on their white shirts)
This is from a waterleaker. No mods to this, it matches the gearbox splines and is the correct diameter.
New bolts for pressure plate to flywheel, there different to JX ones.
Part no:N 101 010 01 you will need 6 of them.
If your dealers take back the old 1.6 bits as exchange it will cost around £290+vat+machining. This is the cheapest way of doing it and the most sensible, everything is geniune vw not cheap nasty stuff. It you break it you can go to your local dealer and get a replacement bit and your not getting someone is germany or the US to make a replacement in their garden shed.
This set up is the only one that is going to keep a syncro bell housing water tight.
The only down side is you loose your timing marks so it would be good idea to change cam belt and check timing before changing clutch.
i have the same set up in my 1.9tdi panelvan but i also machined off the shoulder to the rear of the starter motor ring gear so the starter nose/end suport bearing did'nt fowl the flywheel and there where two tiny lumps sticking out on the pressure plate that fowled the inside of the gearbox that had to be removed hope this helps andrew
