AAZ clutchs
I have recently put an AAZ in my syncro with a new JX clutch, flywheel in good condition. Its only done 250 miles but clutch is already weak. Are there any up rated ones?

The one is a straight fitt and available from Sach Racing in Germany but
will set u back +/-£ 480.00 for the kit.+ postage.
The other is using TDI parts and a specialy made input shaft and back
plate.
And the last is a mix match of TDI,2.1 and a specialy made back plate.
The unfortunate thing with all but the first is that u loose ure timing marks.
On the second 2 u will also have to make a small mod to the preshure plate.

Thanks, i know my options now for when it fails.
Mines holding up with a lot of off-road, charginga round, and a bit more go from a bit more fuel and boost. I wonder whats in it?
Will find out soon enough, its coming out, noisy release bearing, bit of judder but not bad considering the abuse.

clutch
you need to go with a 228mm clutch and flywheel for a tuned 1.9 td/tdi to handle the extra torque i have built my hybrid set using all vag parts for about £200 this is using new centre plate, pressure plate and release bearing and a second hand modified flywheel from elseware in the vag range alternatly people like winkler in german do hybrid clutches of the shelf
Any chance of a list of those parts to help us price them up please, and make some informed choices. Flywheel was off a ?
More and more are getting their diesel's power up to respectable levels but then these darn 2 tonners take quite some force to accelerate and that clutch thing sits right in the middle of that equation

clutches
it's the gearbox that's always going to be the limiting factor on the t25's the 228mm clutch assembly can take the power as the factory fitted a 228mm clutch to a 192 bhp 2.9vr6 corrardo so thats up to the job

After further engine tweeks the clutch is now toasted. Which of the above would you opt for if it was yours. Reliability and pedal pressures (knackered back) are my main concerns. Have you any contact details for sachs racing i can't find anything on google.
Andy,
Consolations, getting expensive now...

... and do yo think we should have Diesel Tech Section or split the Alt Engines to diesel and petrol. More and more seem to be fitting diesels and tuning them (a bit

I have made the lda pin tapered as on the 1.6's, upped the boost and have fuel screw one and a quarter turnen in from stanadard, it can be very smokey at lows revs off boost with lots of throttle. Power now from 4000-5200rpm is excellent and smoke free.
Fuel costs are now mad, if i just use it for going to work (stop start traffic) it will burn about £55 every 250 miles, my 2wd 1.9 lpg will do over 700 miles on about £52 on the same journeys.
I stopped thinking about the expense of this thing years ago.
Can't push it any further due to brakes get warm and the not so grippy bfg at's
We defo need a diesel forum.
