Re: Think I'm going to buy this.....

Have you been to see the van yet, ask loads of questions & check if the mileage can be verified - even then still sounds like a lot of money...

Maybe when you go to see it & if you have time, you could put a shout out on 80-90 to see if there is someone local who could come with you.

Sorry to report I have a similar problems looking for a decent garage in Gloucester. One who is an VW beetle/van specialist in Gloucester has let me down badly this year, putting a hole in a new fuel tank they fitted, bringing my van back with a water hose fully clamped. I have heard 123 Car & C...

I especially like the toilet roll holder - not many folks will have one of those. If the toilet roll fits in the battery compartment, does it also come nicely warmed??

Thank you for your suggestions - replies in text below if it is a DF the flange or rubber gasket is quite expensive and 10 times the size of the DG's one, you can tell if it is split as the carb will be quite wobbly on top of the engine, mine was split and wobbly but didn't fix my problem when I rep...

Engine DF & DG Carburettor Question

My van would not idle today, took it to the garage & they cleaned the jet out, after messing about for another 30mins after that they said they thought the carburettor was the problem. Now my engine code is a DF which means the following to some of you guys 1913cc 4/overhead valve 44kW - 60bhp D...

My understanding is that they only currently make replacement fuel tanks for the later vans, & the fittings needed to be changed to accomodate the new style tank so I took the safe bet (I thought) & replaced everything. The dodge appears to be with how the garage secured the tank. They say w...

Originally we planned to set off at 2pm today, but the van is still at the garage.

They said ring in an hour for an update, so guess we will know then.

Have stuff all ready to go in van IF it is sorted.

New Just Kampers Petrol Tank

We had a strong petrol smell which we put down to the fact that the tank on the van was 26 years old & probably had a hole in the top of it. So last week we had a new Just Kampers fuel tank & replaced all the relevant fittings. I filled it up to 3/4 full this afternoon it has developed a lea...
