Re: Big brake upgrades
Actually, that jaguar setup has evolved a bit... from jag caliper and t4 rotor to all jag to jag rotor and Toyota caliper... If i have understood it right you'll need a spacer between the hub and rotor on a syncro but otherwise all you need to do is drill out a few holes.Theres still an issue about ...

Re: Hello from the South Of France.
Were did you find open trails i southern France? I was i Les Arcs sur Argens (not far from Frejus) and we were not even allowed to walk in the forest due to fire hazard... Had i known you were in the area i would have invited you by, i know a couple of cool spots for the family:)

Re: Hand held CBs?
I have a midland alan 42 multi, that's the one that comes with a cigarette lighter and external antenna adapter. it also comes with cassettes for rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries, and a charger. It's a pretty popular little unit, legal in all of Europe and Russia (some may not work on the...

Re: PEH Syncro build
Last picture: the engine protection frame is mounted wrong, my old syncro doka had it mounted low like that to clear a 2wd exhaust but that does not look to be the case here.
Congratulations on a nice blank canvas!

Re: any one made their own mud flap's??
Yes, i made a set for the front. It was a rather quick job with little attention to detail, but they a rough look that matched the rest of the car so i was happy. I used a truck mudflap i found and cut it in half, one half per side. I riveted the flaps to the back of the wheel well, with some of the...

Re: Tyre shaving?
Do you have a decoupler? If not be careful, I've read in several places that more than 2-4mm difference in circumference between tires will be bad for your VC if driven on road. I can't give you a source now, got to search for it but I'm leaving for Scotland in half an hour, I'll have a look later i...

Re: Snow tyres. What are the Scandanavians using this year?
According to the norwegian automobile association (NAF) the best this year is Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 in the studded category and Goodyears UG Ice+ in the unstudded category. Heres a google translate link to the article, the "best" is not always best for what your use so reading up can pay ...

Re: Rear Seatbelts - A thousand apologies
i added some 3-point belts from jk in my doka, it had all the holes and nuts alredy there and the belts just bolted in with the provided bolts. The belts were pretty short and the reels were too big for the lower mounts so i used the upper ones, after ajusting everything they worked perfectly. Could...
