Just looked at the weather in the UK and it looks like it's rubbish again hehehehehe....
Been down the South Of France for a week or two all ready in 40*c sunshine with my FAMILY in the Westy. We managed to find some tracks south of St Tropez and did some off road driving too. We are in a national park north of Nice at the moment and it's got to be one of the best areas we have ever driven. I will let you get back to the sh!t weather for now,
Nice to hear your having a good time, might sneak over the water myself later in the month before handing over some bits to Aiden for his attention in September.
Jed give us an update when your back because planning to do Europe next year so need some ideas where to go, although would love to go back to Germany but keeping my option open at present
Atlantic westy 91, Golf mk1 cabrio and looking to add a syncro to the list
We are in Italy now. We spent the last two nights in the French alps and aparantly nobody minds (didn't bother us anyway) if you drive the service roads to the top of the ski lifts
Got up to 7152 ft the highest the van has ever been I think....
Just came out of Copse in the french alps, on the lake, beautiful spot along with the sunshine and good temps, not inundated with tourists- moved onto the ardeche toured the ardeche gorge, glorious and some kayaking.
It's all the little moments in life that make it a big adventure.
We are in Switzerland at the moment after a brief visit to Italy. All I can say about Switzerland is WOW!!!! the place is amazing really Syncro country, we even have neighbors in a syncro camper.
We drove te Grimsal pass through glaciers, snow, cloud the lot and now we are chilling just after a nice kayak with Isaac. He got is first Swiss army knife today so a very proud moment for me.
Off to the Midi on 31 August. Heading for Uzes which is a beautiful town about 20k north of Nimes. Some friends have a place near there which we get to use for FREE! We will take 2 days to get from Roscoff and going to use the Aires book to find an overnight stop - something else I've learnt from 80 90!
We tend not to bother with the Med and use the beaches on the Gard river which are ace and the water is very clean. Going to head home via Chinon which is my old stomping ground from when I was a teenager. There is a great little municipal campsite there by the river and overlooked by the chateau. Can't wait!
Jed - did you stay at Interlaken when you were in Switzerland? Although there's not a lot of detail I thought I might have recognised the camp site. Enjoy the rest of it anyway.
