The End
Hi all, Well thats it I have had it with my camper. To cut a long story short I have spent a fortune as you do over the past 12 months getting him ship shape to use for holidays. I have had him for 6 years and to be honest has proved very reliable..however Due to a valve seat pulling I made the deci...

Re: Lifters
Hi Guys, Thanks for the replys. Its a 2.0 cu Aircooled. The mayo has mostly gone. I gave it a 50 mile run and its nearly clear. I have readjusted all of the followers using ratwells instructions. Set each one with piston at TDC with spark plugs removed. Long screwdriver down each pot so I can feel p...

Re: engine misfire
Whip the rockers off and check the height of the valves..are they all the same height ? If not and one is higher than the rest then it could be a valve seat pulling.....Just had this with mine. I had a very occasional misfire and I knew something was not right. So I whipped off the covers and hey pr...

Re: T25 Wont Start :(
Hi, First off ..your oil is too thin..You need to run 15/40 really in these old engines..thats my opinion. I would then check that the terminals on the battery are clean and nice and tight. Also check your earth straps on the gearbox,Battery and the engine one if you have one. If this does not impro...

Im just paranoid that mine appears hot but could be normal.. My dipstick can be held without burning my fing...

Re: Broken down in Nairn, Sctoland
Not the best solution...but carry have you got a broom handle of something as long with you..My starter gave way 4 weeks ago. Im handy with the spanners but resorted to calling the RAC as thats what I pay them for..Funnily enough he used to work in a VW Dealer at the time that vw T25 were for sale.....

Re: T25 Brake Problem
I replaced both calipers on mine last year along with the fluid. Also while the system is being worked on replace the flexible brake hoses all round (2 on the calipers and 2 on the rear swing arms). You will need to soak the ferrels/Brake pipe unions with wd40 or plus gas a day before as it works it...

Re: More problems

I also fitted a new engine bay seal and filled in any holes in the tinware with grommets etc. I can now here the van suck....when im driv...

Re: Lifters
Sorted it !!!! :D It sounds really nice. I just reset the lifters on that side to 1.5 turns. I must admit on the exhaust valve it started to compress the valve spring slightly as I was adjusting..this is one of the ones that had a new valve..guide and seat. If I rev her hard it will rattle a little ...
