Re: AAZ manifold clearancing turbo

Hi, have not been on this forum for a while but that is my picture you have posted. I have now done over 4000 miles with this set up, I did have a problem with a dirty injector that lunched the engine but the new engine is working great. To reset the waste gate get yourself a turbo gauge and just ad...

Hi

I have a different turbo with an integral wastegate.

Hence the long winded effort to be able to use the standard engine mount

Hi I am also half way through an AAZ conversion and have read many times on here to use the JX manifold for an easier conversion. Unfortunately I have been unable to source one so am using the original manifold. There is a problem with this as I found the waste gate actuator now hits the engine moun...

Thanks, so would it be worth me trying to modify the nose? are the pulleys of similar dimensions or is it like too much much work?

Thanks for all your comments, just out of interest how is the TDi pulley different and is it difficult to modify the nose of the crank to fit it? I have a pulley from a 220000km N/A diesel engine and it was perfect so would the problem be less likely to occur if I used the alternator and water pump ...

Thats very interesting, thanks for the link. I was thinking about the design of the pulley and can only see that the key just locates the pulley in the right position and kept from rotating, ie not shearing the key, is the friction between the two mating surfaces. So if the surfaces are flat and mat...

Thats what i have read, but with these modern adhesives is it not possible to assist the crank bolt by literally glueing it on? I actually drove around in the car for a while before I pulled the engine and all seemed ok. I have had prior experience with these engineering adhesives and they are prett...

AAZ Timing belt pulley

I have just bought a 97 aaz engine and as I was stripping it down noticed that the crank nose that locates in the timing belt pulley was a bit chewed up. I have read that people think it is a better idea to go for another engine, but how do you know that the next one will not be the same? I was thin...
