Temperature Gauge and Clock not working

The temperature gauge and the clock on my 89 caravelle do not work. They haven't worked for some time now. (bit stupid of me to be running around with no temp gauge, I know)

Any ideas what it might be?

The CL works from the passenger door and always has. Think it may have been added at some point before I bought it. (its guenuine vw)

I have disconected the wires and it make no difference.

Think i'll take it out and have a look.

Drivers Door Lock Stuck Down

The lock on my drivers door (Caravelle) is stuck down. You can lift the knob and open the door under some pressure but it pulls straight back down.

The van has central locking and all other locks are fine.

Any ideas?

Could be worse it could be stuck open.

Clutch problems

I'm find it difficult to change gears. It seems as you need to push the clutch pedal down further to engage the gear. I had the same problem with my beetle as the clutch cable had got slack. Just a few turns of the wing nut on the end of the cable sorted the problem. As my 89 caravelle clutch works ...

Also as soon as turn the ignition the fuse for the radio and cig lighter blows. Also the green indicator light on th...

Front brake back plate MOT failure?

My T25 caravelle has failed its MOT on a few small things. One being the back plates on the front discs have rotted. If I take these off would it still fail MOT. The reason I ask is that most cars don't have them and its not a problem.
