Re: Autosleeper Trooper help

Hi Tonytech

Thanks for that, just the sort solution we were after, will check it out at next pre-trip hook-up. Looks like the quest for the holy grail (Trooper Manual) goes on though :(

Autosleeper Trooper help

Hi all I wonder if you could help us with a couple of Trooper specific problems please. Firstly does anybody out there have a user manual for a 1989 Autosleeper Trooper? We've searched high and low but to no avail. We're aware that there is one for the Trident on this website and that the two models...

Long cooling pipe query

Hi all My 1.9 DG 1989 camper has just blown a joint where the long coolant pipe joins a rubber hose just level with the back wheel (before going into a black plastic tower gizmo). I'm having to get a longer rubber pipe to fix it but the info I've found on the forum has, as always, been very helpful....

Hi Just thought I'd post a follow-up to this. The job went pretty well, the only problem was that I couldn't get the shield off to drain the rh jacket due to a siezed nut on the exhaust but I gave the system a really good flush out afterwards and boy did some muck come out! It's all nice and blue no...

Engine code anomaly

Hi all Now there's a daunting word, anomaly! Anyway I thought I'd check my registration document having realised that the engine code might be on there and if not to pencil it in and... ...they don't match!!! EEK! The actual engine fitted is a DG 1.9 petrol but although the log book does say 1.9 and...

Hi Thanks Westy.Club.Joker & Laurie for your help on this. I will order from VW so that I can get all the little bits that I need to do the job in one go (he says optimistically). Having looked at the job I'd realised that I'd need to take pulleys off for access so your little tip Laurie will he...

Okay I spoke to my local VW Van centre and they can get the part (£38ish) but won't know if they've warehouse stock until Monday. Volkspares seem to have the part in stock but there's nothing on their website to say how quickly they despatch. Also they don't appear to stock the gasket/seal or bolts ...

Hi again Thanks for all of your suggestions. After much staring at the vagcat I've finally realised that the name next to the item on the list on the right-hand side does not necessaily apply to the Item No! Clicking on the Item No brings up another window with the details (in German but easily tran...

Hi Thanks for the speedy replies edoh & camper but none of these are the pipe that I'm talking about. It runs from the underside/RH side of the pump, goes behind the crank pulley and then connects to a rubber hose which in turn leads to the RH block. Also I did read mocki's article but it doesn'...

Leaking metal coolant pipe

Hi 80-90ers Can anybody help me with a small but significant problem. I have a coolant leak on my 89 petrol 1.9 DG and I've finally traced it to the metal pipe that runs from the pump to the RH block. Although I can't see the hole because of the position, holding a piece of cardboard under the pipe ...
