Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Cheers guys - at the moment it's just 2 coats. I'm going to do a 3rd coat on a few areas to give it a bit more durability and deeper colour then leave well alone for a month. Will see how it looks then before deciding whether to flat it or just polish. The panels aren't all 100% straight and smooth ...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Rustbucket - the coverage is pretty good especially when you get the dilution right. We did 2 coats with the 2nd quite a lot thicker than the first after some experimentation (better to go by look and feel rather than sticking rigidly to a set ratio as you can take weather conditions etc into accoun...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Well, after a year in the planning, we finally got a first coat on at the weekend. (Big thanks to my wife for finding a friendly farmer with a dry barn just in the nick of time). Now, here's a tip - don't start painting when you're hungry, knackered and over eager! I put twice the volume of thinner ...

Obsolete coolant pipe 1.6 CS
Hi guys - I'd be grateful for any advice on how to find a replacement coolant pipe for my 1985 1.6d CS. It's sprung a couple of tiny leaks in the 4 way 'octopus' pipe over the top of the block. Looking and asking around I believe the part is no longer available (068-121-101C). Do any of you know of ...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Hi guys - same as VEEDUB, I have a marsala red 1985. Anyone got a suggestion for the best RAL match? Thanks a lot - I've got everything except the paint so raring to go...

Re: Should I buy?
You have to have a close look I think. Can't really tell how advanced it is from the pics. Maybe the seller could post some close-up pics. If the rust is around the side windows only, it shouldn't be too bad to sort out but you might need to drop the windows out? The more difficult problem would be ...

Re: Diesel engine type query
Thanks a lot Kev - I looked at this earlier and the info led me to believe I've got a CS, but I wondered if there is anywhere I can type in my engine number for absolute confirmation. Main reason is I need a new oil filler neck and cap, but haven't got a part number and can't see it in any catalogue...

Diesel engine type query
Hi, As a new member, please bear with me if this has been asked before (can't see anything on the search though). My van is a 1985 RHD tin top. It was originally a 1900 petrol, but has at some point been converted to a 1.6 diesel. I have the engine number etc and think the engine is a 'CS'. Is there...
