Re: Temp gauge
If the temp gauge is moving to the overheat position even with the wires to the sender disconnected then there a short circuit or very low resistance across the gauge. The only other component that can cause that fault is if module 43 goes short circuit but you are getting the same fault with it rem...

Re: Temp gauge
I would disconnect the wiring to the sender, start up and see if that cures the problem. While you have it disconnected measure the resistance across the sender and across the two wires. If the resistance is very low then there is a problem with the wiring.

Re: Rock n Roll bed nightmare
The supports seem to be fitted so that they rest on the vertical board and support the overhang. Might have to ring NLA up and ask them. Thanks......

Re: Temp gauge
Did the gauge indicate overheating as soon as the engine was started? Sounds like a short circuit across the gauge if the gauge needle moves to the overheating position at start up (the LED will flash when the needle moves to the overheating position - that is normal). You removed module 43 and w...

Re: Rock n Roll bed nightmare
I have these ones... https://nlavw.com/home/724-t25-westfalia-rock-and-roll-bed-hinges.html Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk So there are hinges for the Type2 and different hinges for the T25. NLA also list Springs and Supports for the T25 R n R bed, Are those essential as I cannot see them lis...

Re: Rock n Roll bed nightmare
I’m interested in those hinges from NLA, the only ones listed are for the Type2, are those the ones you are fitting and do they also bolt to the engine bulkhead or just the 18mm wooden side sections?

Re: Anyone used their OEM jack successfull
Had a rear blow out just 3 weeks ago, OEM jack did the job. We used it on firm ground, applied the handbrake and chocked the front wheels with our levelling ramps as we were in a lay by on a slight incline with lorries creating turbulence as they sped past us. Those scissor jacks supplied with some ...

Re: Temp gauge
Most likely the capacitor has failed in the gauge circuit. Unfortunately, electrolytic capacitors do fail and have a limited operational life. After 40 years there will be quite a few temp gauges suffering ‘permanent flashing’ but the good news is that the capacitor can be replaced. Happy to do a wr...

Re: Temp gauge
From your description, the LED pulses continually even with the module 43 (42) removed when the ignition is first switched on and continues to pulse. That sounds very much what happens when one of the following occurs:- 1. the regulator voltage falls below 9.25v 2. the voltage regulator connection a...

Re: Temp gauge
Removing the module has no effect on the function of the temperature gauge needle, it will still indicate coolant temperature. The module only senses low coolant and triggers the LED if necessary and that’s it. However, from your posts, your gauge is intermittent and not functioning for periods of t...

Re: Temp gauge
Sounds very much like an issue with the 10v supply to the gauge but take it for a run with the module removed and if it continues to flash intermittently then take the dash out and inspect the wiring and connections fro the regulator to the gauges.

Re: Temp gauge
If there is an intermittent issue with the coolant warning LED and coolant level is not the cause then I would remove module 43 ( or marked 42). Doing this will isolate the gauge from the coolant level sender circuit and help to diagnose the cause. With the module removed, the LED will flash for a f...

Re: T25 interior strip light replacement
Are you asking if it’s possible to convert the fluorescent units to LED? If so, yes, I fitted 12v Warm White luxeon Strip light LED’s into one of my interior fluorescent tube light units, there are eight LEDs per strip and I fitted four strips in place of the two fluorescent tubes. I prefer fitting ...
