T25 interior strip light replacement

Has anyone replaced their original strip lights with LED RGB strips? If so how did you do it? My lights run off the Leisure battery and a CP400 Zig Unit with 10amp fuses

Replacing these horrible things.......

Are you asking if it’s possible to convert the fluorescent units to LED? If so, yes, I fitted 12v Warm White luxeon Strip light LED’s into one of my interior fluorescent tube light units, there are eight LEDs per strip and I fitted four strips in place of the two fluorescent tubes. I prefer fitting into the original unit as the cover diffuses the light and gives a better spread.

It should be quite simple, as these led strips are usually 12 volt anyway.

The strips are often adhesive backed, so easy enough to stick to your van.

Wiring wise, they use generic aftermarket wire colours.

Red for + 12 volts.
Black for chassis or ground.

This makes it easy as the van interior lighting wire colours should be...
Red for +12 volts.

Brown for ground

Brown or brown/white for ground via the door pin switches.

The coloured lighting looks great at first, but not particularly comfy on the eyes after a very short while.
Although not as "pretty", warm white led's are much easier for your eyes to tolerate.

That great. I might be being totally thick.....but how did you close off the 12v loop from the other end of the strip lights? I'm guessing this needs to happen

Nope - no need.

If you link them, you will be shorting out the strip.
Not good.

Only connect at one end.

Red to "+"
Brown to "-".

thats cool thank you. do you have any pics of how you tired yours in?

I don't have any fitted, but the led ribbons are very simple to wire in.

If you are removing your light unit, then you could wire the led ribbon using standard male spade (lucar) connectors.
I am sure the brown wires have a smaller terminal.
