Re: Rubbish bin

That wall-mounted bin from Ikea looks very good for keeping things neat in camper or caravan. The price is affordable, and the Italian quality is unbeatable. Beige maybe not so exciting color, but it should mix in quite good. Nice suggestion!

Re: Front passenger jacking point toast

you might want to check out scissor jacks or bottle jacks. They can be more versatile and might work better if your regular jacking point is problematic. Just make sure the jack you choose is compatible with your vehicle's weight and lift requirements.

Re: Temperature sensor/sender identification help required

The coolant sender having brown and red cables, it is likely for the aux water pump as well as turbo cooling fan. Meanwhile, yellow and red cable probably connect to original temp gauge. The blue and white wire need to connect with the glow plug coolant sender. For green wire coming from VDO gauge, ...

Re: My rear door won’t open

Have you checked the latch mechanism and the lock actuator? Sometimes, it’s just a matter of a stuck or jammed component. Also, try using some penetrating oil to see if that helps free it up. If it’s still stuck, you might need to look at the internal cables.

Re: Newbie

If you’ve got 3 out and the last one is stuck, it might be worth taking the stub axle off and getting it pressed. Just make sure you’ve got the right tools and a good place to do it.

Re: Standard 2.0 cu camshaft spec advice

Newman cams are solid. The 260° duration and extra 1 mm lift should be fine with your hydraulic lifters. Stock cams are usually around 240-250° duration.

Re: What's the deal with 45A/90A alternator brackets?

From what I've seen, the 90A bracket with the tensioner bolt should work with a 45A alternator, as long as the mounting points line up. It's definitely worth trying since it might help with the belt tension issues you're having. Just double-check the fitment before committing.

Re: 2.1 wbx... Making worrying noise when accelerating

Maybe something not installed perfectly or some part got loose. It might be good to check that again and also look at the exhaust and driveshaft for anything wrong.

Re: Speedometer design

VW might make the speedometer show more clearly common driving speeds, like 90 kph (55 mph). This could be because it is a good speed for saving fuel or keeping the engine running smoothly. But it also might be just a style choice without any big meaning. If it feels too fast for your van, better to...
