Hey all,
I was looking at some pictures of T3 instrument clusters online, when I noticed that different speedometers have different speeds at the top of the dial (when the needle points straight up). This is all around cruising speed, so I was wondering: Did VW design the speedo's this way to reflect the intended/designed cruising speed?
I'm curious to hear if anyone here knows about this, or of its just coincidence.
At my van its just over 90kph (55mph) indicated, which feels a little bit higher than I would normally want to rev the engine.

Re: Speedometer design
VW might make the speedometer show more clearly common driving speeds, like 90 kph (55 mph). This could be because it is a good speed for saving fuel or keeping the engine running smoothly. But it also might be just a style choice without any big meaning. If it feels too fast for your van, better to drive at a bit slower speed to keep engine in good shape.
