Excuse me for asking here but is it possible to buy the parts to convert a transporter to a syncro? and how difficult would it be?

just thinking about it at the moment but is it easily possible or is it a absolute mission?

If it is cheaper than buying a syncro then it might be an idea...

I have an L reg passat TDi - which i was wondering if it would be a good engine donor for a T3? I am sure it would be but I want a bit of advice or thoughts... Not about to scrap the car, but just wanting to know... Car is running nicely, and has a few niggles, But the negine is good with 194k miles...

reason why i ask is we used to have a 5 cylinder petrol passat years ago, and if the diesel engine is anything like the petrol engine i think it would be awesome...

one very happy dude... alternator is all srted and guess what! the rebuild was done by a bosch trained engineer... all fitted up and rolling nicely... very good service and extremely efficient. thanks for recommending him, he was a true gent... i would recommend him again to anyone.

alternator is being rebuilt today... hopefully i will be back on the road by monday... i will let you know... and guys thanks for all the input... brilliant help here... love it...

yeah okay, surely if i took the alternator in to show them... like i said in my original post... then they should be able to match it?? or is it to difficult to match something by looking at the original vw alternator with something that they are supposed to be good at getting you spares for?? like ...
