Hey - thanks for the replies guys, Yes I have a Haynes manual and have had a look at the handbrake assembly section. The handbrake doesn't stay up at all just 'flops' down... before it would just about hold on the last click if I pulled it up and over towards the passenger side :? now its completely...

Excellent news - All is well (for now!)

It was the earth coil. One of the spades was buggered and the wire burnt out! Put a new spade on and gave the contact a clean, and all is lovely!

Thanks again for the help, i can now go out at night again!

Got a bit of a problem here any suggestions would be welcomed! When i switch the headlights on they dont work! The full beam light comes on too. Cheers will do a bit more research, i think i have found some of the bars.
Not yet decided whether to use the vinyl stuff or some other type of fabric or carpet. Am at early stages of designing the interior and layout.

Full beams turn off headlights?

When I put my full beams on the lights go out! Turning off full beam puts them on again? Would this be a bad earth?
Its a 1982 petrol
