Where do I find headlining bits?

Thin bits of metal and bright blue light.

Where do I find headlining bits?

Post by winnie »

Had a peek behind the existing headling arrangrment - wooden homemade bars/beams held on with duck tape with the carpeted ply screwed to them.

Saw the info on wiki about how to make the material part, but what is the best way to fix this to the roof?

Any one have information on where i can get the material, and what type of support system i need?

Cheers :)

The original headlining is supported by about seven metal rods (3-4mm diameter) which fit into plastic cups inserted into holes in the cant rails of the van. The wiki drawing of the material shows the tubular pockets needed for the rods to run through.

If you look up some of the car restoration sites such as Woollies you'll find the traditional perforated off-white vinyl material. Unfortunately it is usually only 1.2m wide on the roll and this is not enough for the width of the van.

I have just done mine using the corded camper lining carpet, stuck to plastic boards which are screwed to the cant rails & roof bows.

Cheers will do a bit more research, i think i have found some of the bars.
Not yet decided whether to use the vinyl stuff or some other type of fabric or carpet. Am at early stages of designing the interior and layout.
