The bearing tube on mine was, as you say, shot; I therefore machined up a new one, which didn't take long.

Re: Holey Trailing Arm

I renovated one that was even worse than that about a month ago. I started out by sandblasting it and then thoroughly checking the integrity of the rest of the arm. Since there was next to no corrosion anywhere else, I made up a series of shaped 3mm plate pieces for the damaged area - these were the...

Very Early 4-Speed Linkage?

I have a very early 4-speed 'box in my bus (code 'CK'), and, as usual for a vehicle of this age, the gear selection is a bit like waving a stick in a cathedral... I'd like to tighten things up, but the rear relay (Part No: 251 711 219) is currently unavailable from BW, and I can't find it anywhere e...

Re: Sill Blanking Rubbers?

Thank you - it seems that I was looking at a different T3 sill blanking rubber on the BW website when I quoted the £4.06 price... I've only seen one type on mine, so must admit to being a little confused as to what the other one does now that I've also seen the item that you were kind enough to dire...

Sill Blanking Rubbers?

I'm coming to the end of two months of almost continuous metal-bashing and welding on my '81 T3. Before I can finish the job properly, however, I'd like to replace a load of the oval rubber blanking plugs, of which there are six on the sills and several more in the floor. Since the official items ar...

Trailing Arm Bolts?

I've just bought some new bushes to go into the trailing arms on my 1981 T3, and on trying some 12 mm bolts found that they were a terrible fit. The bolts are brand new high quality items, so it's not them - are the bushes all like this? I assume a certain amount of clearance is necessary to get eve...

Re: Rear Lock rebuild '82 T25

Can anyone please point me towards somewhere I can purchase the complete plate as shown in the first photo? The catch on mine was seized solid after being stood for five years and I had to use a long tungsten carbide burr to cut the old old away!
