Sill Blanking Rubbers?

Post by Paddy_SP »

I'm coming to the end of two months of almost continuous metal-bashing and welding on my '81 T3. Before I can finish the job properly, however, I'd like to replace a load of the oval rubber blanking plugs, of which there are six on the sills and several more in the floor. Since the official items are over £4 each, I'm not in a hurry to buy them from a VW supplier - almost identical ones for a Porsche are less than half that, but without buying one and measuring it, I don't know whether it'd fit. I was therefore wondering if anyone here has found an alternative supply for these things?

251 899 185 01C ? 17x32mm oval plug black ? Listed at £1.76 inc VAT by BW but currently out of stock, might be worth dropping them an email to see if they'll be getting some more ? Mick at NWVW will have some used ones but new is better.
Syncrosport (taking a break as of summer 2024)

Thank you - it seems that I was looking at a different T3 sill blanking rubber on the BW website when I quoted the £4.06 price... I've only seen one type on mine, so must admit to being a little confused as to what the other one does now that I've also seen the item that you were kind enough to direct me towards!
