Any Engineers out there?
Anyone on here an engineer that can produce a 1/4" (6mm) engine-turned sheet of 20g S/S for me (similar to a Duesenberg dash). Approx. 18" X 10". It’s for a car we are building for a client and he has specifically requested this in part of his dash. I know there is a lot of talent on ...

Re: 16" damper extention with Andreas springs
Thanks Rob,
I spoke to brickwerks today, and was told they didn't do anything to extend the dampers and I would have to out source it.

16" damper extention with Andreas springs
Hi guys, I am going to swap my Trailmaster dampers for a set of new 16” dampers from Brickwerks, as I am not 100% happy with the damping on the Trailmaster units. Apparently I need an extension piece for the front dampers to work with the longer springs. My question is; where can I find/buy these fr...

Re: Syncro DJ Exhaust mountings
Hi Mark,
It is the Autosleeper, I now have the correct O.E VW exhaust. so hopefully it should be a straight forward job!!

Re: Syncro DJ Exhaust mountings
Hi Simon,
Thanks for the reply, the van is a 1988. I assume from what you said that the saddles are correct for the year of the van and just the exhaust is wrong. I now have the correct later exhaust and 'theoretically' this should just bolt on.
Cheers

Syncro DJ Exhaust mountings
Hi folks, I am about to replace the none original exhaust on my 2.1 DJ Syncro with the correct one (thanks Patrick). The exhaust fitted was on it when purchased and has been fine if a little low (hence the damage) until recently, now it really is on its last legs. My question is; are the mounting br...

Autosleeper floor
Can someone with a circa 1988 Autosleeper measure the thickness of the chipboard floor please.
I’ve been a bit of a numpty
and lost the scrap of paper that it was written down on. ½” seems to ring a bell but want to make sure.
Cheers

Re: Finally painted my Syncro last weekend MOT pass
Finally got the bus together and MOT’d , I didn’t even get any advisories; always a bonus. :D Anyway a couple of pictures to date. All legal and will be at Vanfest (albeit with no interior). http://i586.photobucket.com/albums/ss306/timtheenchanter/CIMG4638.jpg http://i586.photobucket.com/albums/ss30...

Re: dashboard variants?
That looks better that the stock black finish. Next year, I hope to whip the dash out of my van and recover it with some Alcantara -think that's how its spelt -material. I thought of covering the dash first with some thin scrim foam and then the new covering over the top. That's the plan anyway.......

Re: dashboard variants?
I had mine done in Bentley black beluga leather and French seamed in oatmeal . You need to key the existing dash with 60-80G paper & use a proper contact adhesive, it may be prudent to have it done professionally as getting into the seams without leaving ’stretch’ marks could prove tricky. http:...

Re: Finally painted my Syncro last weekend (The refit)
Hi Mike,
Its a copy of the original winch mount modified to take a modern winch mounting pattern.
Thanks it does look better everytime I bolt something on, but its not happening often enough at the moment, going to try and have a good bash the bank holiday weekend.

Hi Si & Helen,si&helen cali89 wrote:is there a manual for 1989 westy 1.6tdjx
Yes there is, you want the VW Bentley Manual which will also cover all the westy interior fittings. its not cheap though, about £60.00.
