Re: Gear selection issues
Thanks for that Aidan. Am currently away from home but will contact the garage recommended on my return. Definitely easier with more trained eyes and from a post ramp too. Ta again

Re: Gear selection issues
Thanks for pointers Aidan. Have had T25s with 5 speeds before now, but this one has a fair bit of waggle in the gear change. Would you recommend a full refurb of all bushes then? I did access the linkage to start with, to grease everything as experience tells me that they can get a bit dry through n...

Gear selection issues
Hi folks. No stranger to T25s (and their foibles) but looking for any info to narrow down the cause of issue with a fresh van to the collection. Lots of play in gearshift. Van done approx 140k miles. 1.6TD with 5 speed dogleg gearbox. ie 1st opposite reverse. Selects all gears moderately well apart ...

Re: New to T25s - 1989 Devon Eurovette - Info required
Hi Dan Good choice of motor. We have one of those in our collection and its one of the best thought out pro conversions out there. This is helped by the fact that Devon took the trouble to cut out the centre strengthening rib from the original van roof to allow a full headroom living space. They mad...

Re: What dangerous about this Vehicle?
Bu**er all as far as I can see from the pic. Unless your insurance company is one of those that thinks LHD is dangerous.
Is this one of those rhetorical questions?

Syncro on Fleabay
Just seen this item for sale. Item number 130634935024 When I saw the price, I thought I'd better take a bit more care with the "resting" 'velle GL syncro in my yard. Anybody any idea if this sellers figures on RHD GL Syncro caravelles is correct? Any of you lot been pestering this man for...

Syncro front wheel bearings
Hi Folks,
Just a quickie.
Any suggestions on best supplier for front wheel bearings for T25 Syncro? Good quality ones at a good price, as usual!
Any comparative part numbers would be helpful if same bearings used on other motors.
Thanks

Re: Syncro Front Wheel Bearings
Thanks for the info. Bearing and seals ordered from Brickwerks. Managed to keep the caravelle running by robbing the complete hub from my 91. The sacrifices I make to keep my Mrs on the road! Might as well get the discs skimmed whilst its stripped down. Any T25 owners in Mid Wales might want to cons...

Syncro Front Wheel Bearings
Anyone know of a good source for replacement front wheel bearings? That is without paying VW a fortune.
This is for my 86 Syncro 'velle.
Job looks straight forward, but I'd appreciate any notes on potential problems with removing/replacing the bearings from anyone who has done this.
Thanks

Diesel wiring diagram and Syncro UJs
Anybody know where I can find a good wiring diagram for an 88 diesel T25 1.6? I've got a mechanic mate who is currrently tearing his hair out trying to sort out a few faults and a good diagram would be a godsend to him. Something better than Haynes please. Also, anybody know of a good source for rep...

cooling
Quick fix. Check fuse number one for fan (first on left of fuse box) Also note that fan thermo switch some times doesnt work if hot water doesnt reach rad due to airlock in system. Check air bleed procedure as many people dont really know how to bleed these beasts after carrying out work on cooling ...

Stalling engine
Hi, just a couple of pointers that may be of use. I had a similar problem on one of our vans and that turned out to be a combination of faulty ignition control unit (Sited on LH of engine compartment next to bulkhead), and also a faulty idle speed control valve. Also check the braided earth strap on...
