Thanks people. WD-40 Specialist Contact Cleaner sprayed onto dash light switch and stalk switch has cured it ! Just to clarify it was sidelights only working on both settings from dash switch, but dip and full beam worked when pulling on stalk to flash (lol). It's a 4 square headlight vanagon. All b...

What is this unit and why did my fuse not blow...??
Hi all, This is not my van in the pic, but its the same 1.6TD Pretty sure the mechanic has bent the unit down in the pic, causing the wire to short out on the metal holder of the powersteering fluid, then the wire has melted all the way back to the relay box on the left of the pic. Also got no rever...

Replacing Handbrake cables
One of my rear handbrake cables has snapped and so needs replacing. Will probably replace both (have just got hold of 2 from GSF). Van is 1990 1.6TD JX left hand drive vanagon. Rod looks ok from handbrake to past fuel tank,so just the cables need replacing. I don't have a Haynes and can't find expla...

Thanks....yes, I was removing alloys and putting on winter tyres/wheels. I didn't fit the alloys myself, but in my bag of nuts from the original wheels I found the four little bolts (which had obviously been removed to fit the alloys)...I figured if they weren't on with the alloys then they weren't ...
