What is this unit and why did my fuse not blow...??

Post by malverner »

Hi all,

This is not my van in the pic, but its the same 1.6TD

Pretty sure the mechanic has bent the unit down in the pic, causing the wire to short out on the metal holder of the powersteering fluid, then the wire has melted all the way back to the relay box on the left of the pic.

Also got no reversing lights, could that be related? (bulbs checked and fine)

Before I take it to the garage, what is this unit? Some kind of sensor for the water temp? Van starts and runs fine without it.. but wire still has voltage reading.. Why did no fuse burn out though!? Only discovered the melting wire when showing someone the engine..

Thanks

Thanks Aiden..

Is there or should there be a fuse for that, and if so where would it be?
