starter motor issue?
Hiya.. quick question, I went to start the van the other day and it turned over as normal but before it had a chance to fire up into life the turning over noise just stopped dead. Now if I try to start it I get the click but nothing from the starter. I'm assuming the battery is fine as everything el...

Re: Replacing gas struts
These are the ones.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360890262009?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Again from Ebay. Haven't put them in yet so can't confirm that they do the job. Will report back once I have. It's the 800nm which is the important bit as this relates to streng...

Re: Replacing gas struts
Many thanks. And putting the new one on I guess is the same in reverse? So do the body end first then the tailgate end?

Replacing gas struts
I've recently put a Fiamma bike rack on the back of Hugo only to find that with the extra weight the tailgate won't stay up. So I ordered some 800nm gas struts as advised in another post, which are stronger and should take the weight. I thought it would just be a case of undoing a couple of bolts to...

Rear wiper rubber seal thingy
Wondering if anyone would happen to know the correct name of this part and where I might be able to get my hands on one? It's the rubber sleeve that protects the wires for the rear wiper between the tailgate and the vehicle. Mine is well and truly perished and seems to be letting water into the van....

Re: Autosleeper spotlight replacement
Just to bump this, there's definitely no wire. I guess I need to run one from the zig unit but have taken it out and can't see where I would attach it. The zig unit is an MC 2000.

Autosleeper spotlight replacement
I have an Autosleeper Trident which at some point has had the spotlight removed. It should sit just next to the crockery cupboard in the hightop. I'd like to put a new one in, preferably with a regular lightbulb, not LED as find LED light a bit harsh and not that cosy. I've had a look in the cupboar...

Re: smelly Propex
I did think that initially but it is definitely a gluey smell rather than a burning dust smell, there's a definite chemical whiff to it.jas915 wrote:could it just not be dust built up over the summer buring off, mine is like that if left for a few weeks but soon clears.

Re: smelly Propex
Mine only started doing it recently, still haven't figured out what it is. Need to get it sorted as the smell is too strong to live with.. it must be something.
My CO alarm doesn't go off either. Will let you know if I figure it out.

smelly Propex
Wonder if anyone has any ideas on this one. The Propex heater in our van has starteted emitting a strong sort of gluey smell once it has been on for a few minutes. I assume something near or in it is warming up and melting but I have no idea what that might be. Anything obvious leap to mind before I...

Re: internal ladder
In a promotional article I once read it stated that the official use of the ladder is to prop it against the work surface so that you can easily climb onto that. From there you have to shimmy your way up to the top. Think there was even a picture. We've tried it and it works, only really necessary f...

I replied according to your statement.. perhaps you should have worded it without the self analysis
Sage advice. I won't do that again.

Re: Leisure Battery konked out
What type of Zig unit do you have? I know on mine (a CF9) all the switches are up when driving meaning the camping electrics are off and the leisure battery is charging, and when parked up all the switches are down meaning camping electrics are on, running off leisure battery and the main starting ...
