Hiya.. quick question, I went to start the van the other day and it turned over as normal but before it had a chance to fire up into life the turning over noise just stopped dead.
Now if I try to start it I get the click but nothing from the starter. I'm assuming the battery is fine as everything else works, lights, wipers etc.
I guess my question is, if the battery was low would the starter still turn over albeit with less oomph? Does the fact that the starter motor does nout mean that it is shot, or jammed?
As you may be able to detect I'm not a mechanical whizz so any kind advise would be gratefully received. Cheers.
starter motor issue?

Re: starter motor issue?
I would start by trying to jump start it from a boost pack or another vehicle - if it starts then your battery is to blame. I had the "click but no turn over" problem earlier this year on a brand new battery, and it miraculously went away, so I put it down to poor battery earth, although I plan on reconditioning the starter (even though it starts on the button every time currently).

Before assuming the worst, start with the basics. Have you checked your battery with a voltage meter? What is the voltage across the terminals?
