don't worry you can always effect a temporary repair with an inner relay gasket flange seal but make sure there's no wobble in the giggling pin

no worries pal ,if its air cooled then no worry on the coolant corrosion side. i agree with dugcati on the head replacement though. you used to be able to get them repaired, depending on the severity of the damage but that was years ago. now it would probably cost more than a new head . might be wor...

get him to look at the valves & seats. if they are ok & not coked up, then there shouldn't be any probs, he needs to be careful though, as the cylinder head bolts are a bit of a weak link to say the least. :shock: apparently its to do with them corroding as they pass through the water jacket...

i would agree with hubby, if 1&2 are OK ,but 3&4 are down ,then its .3&4 that needs doing doing 1&2 is just going to add to the bill. you could inspect 3/4 and depending on the condition of the head, make an informed decision then .i had a cracked on an air cooled changed the one hea...

they do a lot of plant so if they can tie a plant job up near you with your job it might work out cheaper still thought id mention it

don't know much about the golf 8v ,the vr6 could be a thirsty unit , Subaru's are ok but you've got to get one that's not been neglected, and thrashed racing any car that's been covered in glue and ram raided through halfords .if you know the history of your wbx ,then she may be worth doing ,or look...

60 mph 3000rpm =1 mile a minute cruising along just enough so as not to get under the feet of the hgv,s

no worrys on the smoking side when it fires up i have one in my hgv and it does it if i have had it on over night it smokes just a little next time then short runs seem to make it smokey again

as armyphil said take out the injectors put a bit of oil down each bore and try turning again that way you're not pushing against any compression in the chambers and it should spin freely and check your timing one tooth out on a belt can make a big difference
