Re: Pushrod oil seals leaking?

Cheers Jason well put and gives me a better understanding of the process :ok Just one thing that flummoxes me is what happens to the oil :?: :? Good point? do you need to drain the oil or if the engine has been left for some time while all of the oil drains back into the sump? I guess its a worthy ...

Re: Pushrod oil seals leaking?

You dont need to remove the exhaust. The only tinware is the small one that covers the pushrods underneath. Unfortunately, the csp telescopic ones wont fit the 2.0 Aircooled. I've found that all the pushrod oil seals I've used have been poor. Well im glad I dont have to remove the exhaust. Shame th...

Re: Wheel bearings

No...the bearings can be re-used (clean in petrol, blow out with air if you have it, re-pack with high melting point LM grease and re-use with new inner seal) Martin OK thanks for this info, I was not sure if the wheel bearings were pressed into the hub of the brake disc, so changing the seals is f...

Re: Pushrod oil seals leaking?

These are all good points and thanks for your time, I am hoping the seals have turned up at home. As for using Telescopic tubes I am using the old ones, will clean and put back in and will do one at a time as advised. If they leak again, I will have to spend some more money on some telescopic tubes,...

Hi there, Yeah my plan is to have a go at them on saturday, if I can I will take some pictures and post them, but it all depends on what the weather is like at the weekend. Re: Pushrod oil seals leaking?

Hey thanks for your responses. Ive read previous posts where it mentioned not to use gasket seal, do you think this is best, and not to try with just fresh oil or grease around the seals? I ordered the seals from http://www.vwheritage.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; in t...
