subaru awd 20. l t25

hi anybody can help me please , im about to buy a awd 20l subaru engine will this fit into my t25 also can i put the gearbox and engine straight in ? i uderstand i might have to make some alterations but can this be done , as i dont want to use the t25 gearbox as this needs rebuilding and will cost £1000 or more

none hahaha i was planning on getting a friend to do it hes a mecanic but ive been put off the idear now somthing about ending up with 5 reverse gears ! i dont want that lol thanks for ur reply :)

Yeh you are better off using the VW box - adaptors for Scooby boxes are unproven and cost about the same as a rebuild.
A week - ha ha on these old Gals try 4 months - everything you remove/try to refit will have an issue, really.
Single cab pickup, running 1996 Subaru WRX STI engine, Aiden talbot gearbox.

I've just bought a legacy engine 2.5 I've been told that it's a 2 day job for a good mechanic can anybody recommend one who has done it before ?

Who told you it was a two day job - maybe with a team of four
You'll definitely need a runner, to get those little bits you forgot

r jes for all the bits you need subaru. cwp in the box can be changed for a reverse cut set of gears that will give you only 1 reverse. there`s a fair bit on the samba about it. sure a good awd road trans could be done useing the subaru box and a flipped front diff but it wont have the low gear you need to make it syncro capable. think youd be better off going audi quatro auto box if thats what you were thinking.

What's wrong with using VW Syncro parts and a rebuilt box from Aiden?
It'll all fit - but if you are converting from 2WD - you'll still need a pair of new front hubs and loads of other suspension bits
