why not just buy a s/hand engine box that will go straight in as what yopur planning is not really viable use the wiki to find out about alt engines etc

if you want to use the scooby gearbox then you'll have to buy a reverse cut crown and pinion and rebuild it with that inside and figure out how to attach our driveshafts to the scooby box and figure out how to select gears
take a read of all the scooby posts on here and elsewhere and check out RJES
but if you want 5 reverse gears and one forward one then away you go

okay thank you for your help so by what you and others are saying its best to buy a gearbox for the t25 and stay with my 2.1 engine just needs a oil leak problem fixed , a guy said maybe the crank seal ? the only reason i wanted to change the engine is im planning to travel and was not to shure on the reliabilty of the t25 engine ? also the gearbox on my van is jumping out of second gear when i relese the throttle , ive brought a new clutch , so all i need is a new gear box meaning secondhand and a crank seal and i should be good to go . also the t25 engine has 140 tho miles is this okay for this engine or do they last longer i know its hard to tell but its new to me going over to an older vehicle , thanks again for you help :)

appreciate your new to them but at leasst youve found your way to the right plasce, what aiden dont know about boxes you wont ever need to know , the rest is simples,
these engines when correctly maintained will go round the clock twice,
beware of mates and the like no matter how well meaning that suggest a,b and c, would thery be so forthcoming if they were paying for a,b and c and take payment only if it cures the problem  no
good s/hand boxes are about,
if you put in your location it helps

just go to control panal where you put stuff when you joined and add location, help when folk offer to assist or sell stuff etc also helpfull if you have stock of beer, bickies and the like , funny how that can drag some of our southern friends out of their slumbers.
go onto the wanted section on here https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=19" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and put an add up for what your needing , boxes that are good will make 2-350,fleabay is like the lottery but with gearboxes less guarantee of a winner spend a couple of quid on the euromillions instead
breakers same problem (excluding those on here) as you need to kn ow the box you are fitting works.
