Hi guys and girls, just bought my first t25 1915cc waterboxer gl caravelle. previous owner let it go a bit and I have nearly finished converting it for the wife and I to sleep in it.Just took it up the road after fitting a set of porche boxer low pros on it and realised that the speedo and temp gauge is not working. can anyone help please.

The speedo is a mechanical drive. Check the drive cable is connected at the rear of the speedo, if it is you need to remove it by unclipping it from the rear of the speedo housing. There is a inner shaft and it It may not be seating the housing or has sheared. If the inner shaft is actually there then take it for a drive - the inner shaft should rotate. If it doesn't then you need to have the cable checked - it connects to the front wheel.

The temperature guage sender in the thermostat housing may be faulty, or it may not be connected at all. Other possibility is that the edge connector where all the wires to the dashpod connect is faulty - this is accessed from under the dashboard. If you check the Wiki, there are descriptions of various tests you can carry out to check why the gauge isn't working and possible faults.
