replacing the spare wheel

Post by doivey »

I had to replace a tyre the other day and was using the spare in the meantime.

Now I have my new tyre fitted and home, I tried to put the spare back under the front of the van in its space.

The same tyre came off the vehicle that i am trying to put back but it seem like there is something in the way not letting me close it fully and tighten up the bolt.

Perhaps I just need to be a bit more forceful, and will be better when someone else is here to give me a hand ( as it is on a slightly busy road so i get a little worried each time a car passes next to my head )

Any ideas or is it a case of pushing pushing pushinguntil the bolt will fit in place.

It might sound daft but you are putting the wheel with what would be the inner side facing up.
There are parts of the gearstick cover that sticks down and goes into the gap, other way round and it hit the wheel.
