AAZ Engines

Is there a definite list of donor cars for the AAZ

I know people mention the Seat but what models - from what year to what year

Where they available in any other makes and models.

I have been trying to fine a donor car but getting a full list or possible donars is difficult.

golf
passat
seat toledo
audi 80
vento
seat ibiza
seat cordoba

These are the most likely, it came out in 91 and ended in about 96-97

Don't think it went in any skodas and it did'nt go in polos.

Don't think it went in the Audi 80 either. The 90bhp TDI came out in about 1993 and was fitted to B4 cars. Earlier Series 3 cars had the 1600 turbo diesel, but these were rare.

I am not 100% confident, but am pretty sure about this.

The AAZ and the tdi 1Z both came out in the audi 80 in 91 and went until end of production in 95.

i take it the first 3 characters of the engine code are AAZ if i'm looking at V5s

Yes but the v5's are often wrong. Look on the block between injectors 2 and 3 or the sticker on timing belt cover, sticker in boot floor, sticker in service book.

thanks - let the hunt begin

i'm actually in ireland so there is no V5 - log books and not as many engine conversions

this sound promising
