Have a Gasure LPG conversion on a 2000cc CU Air cooled and after running around Dolomites last year and having some problems with the usual number three cylinder decided to ensure that as running slightly hotter on gas we would sort out some telemetry to find out what was going on down there.
As well as a cylinder head temp gauge on number 3 we ran a full flow oil system from filter fitting with a take off plate and piped to a 72 plate Empi Cooler plus electric fan mounted above gearbox and remote oil filter head with sandwich plate with oil temp and pressure gauges.
All these wired to a three pod VDO set up on Dash.
What is now visible is as oil pressure drops as oil heats the cylinder heat reaches 350 Farenheit, then fan kicks in keeping oil temp down pressure goes up and cylinder head temp drops down to 250 Farenheit , particularly on motorway.
Temp rise to 380 farenheit going up steep hills etc but cools down quite quickly.
All parts sourced from a number of places and lots of research done.
If anyone is interested please email me and will give full details of parts and suppliers etc and fun and games getting right fittings as a myriad of threads etc e.g NTP, UNF etc etc
