Engine Codes
Does anyone know the range of DG engine codes for a 1.9 Petrol T25 Transporter 82>85 and the range of codes for 85>92 please?

Might be wrong, but isn't it DH for early WBX's then DG for the lates?

You are correct James ... you're wrong


If the original question is ... Can I tell it's age from the engine number DG***** then the answer should (in theory) be yes ... however it can only really tell us when roughly the engine casing was made. Many/most engines have been doing the Okey Kokey ... in, out, in, out and shaken all about ... several times over the past 20-odd years.

On a similar subject, many will know or have seen that a genuine VW reconditioned WBX has the original number ground off and a "VW" logo (within a circle) stamped on, THEN a number, here is mine =
