viking roof struts

Post by hippy chick »

I have just brought the gas struts for my super viking roof. It has four two upright and two horizontal. My last viking had three one each end and one in the middle. This has a horizontal slider at each end and nothing in the middle. They look skinny compared to the old ones but the man at camper shop said these are for the super viking roof , and said to take the bellows of when i fit them, can anyone tell me if they have done this when replacing them. And do you have four struts on your viking roofs. jen

If these are external like my moonraker then no need to take the bellows off. It is easier as you can lift the roof back further so you do not have to compress the strut but taking the bellows off will be a bit over kill and turn a half hour job into a day. Just use a ratchet strap or something to compress em. :ok
