gimme shelter...

Post by edoh »

was avin a look at this on the wiki -
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Ge ... t_workshop" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and was wondering if i put up 4 wooden posts on the front drive - covered with tarpaulin - on my front drive :ok - for a little shelter- for the starter motor and clutch replacement due in march - would that contravene planning / building regulations? anyone have any experience of this?

It would be considered a 'Temporary Construction' and the worst that could happen is that you would be asked to take it down. And if you were made to take it down, you would probably be given 7 days to do so. Put the tarp on at the last minute.

cant see any problem with it , biggest concern would be neighbours complaining :wink:

Reassure the neighbours that it will only be temporary before you put it up then you'll know if there's going to be any potential hassle

thanks for the replies :)
initial chat with the neighbours seem positive -
would probably be cool if it was temporary - eg march to may -
so they knew an end by date in advance and felt their concerns were respected -
will continue chatting w them - :ok
