Nothing but original Carart alloys (14") will bolt straight on I'm afraid. At least you'll need longer studs / bolts to safely fit any other alloys due to the extra thickness of the rims themselves. As Kev said, have a good look through this section and read the Wiki - link at the top of every page - for more info. Loads on Brickyard too about wheels and what's needed for various options.

Sorry that's incorrect. The c class 5 spokes fit straight on with no modification and you can install the centre caps without fouling the caps.

Swap you for the twists????!!!

If you have C class alloys on steel fittings, stop driving and swap the studs / bolts now !

Re: What 17" Merc Wheels
They're extra load tyres on the back and whatever try came with on the front as the van ain't movin at the moment!
With regard to the fitment, they go straight on with the merc beveled head nuts and bolts. The studs are fine lengthwise and there's certainly no problem with them. Not that it matters as I'm buying a full spacer kit with studs and bolts anyway as they sit a little too far under the arch for me.
A very bad photoshop, but I haven't had the time to sort it out yet!

That's a perfect example why people constantly get confused when they see people saying a set of alloys "fits straight on" .
If they did fit straight on there would be no need for longer bolts, studs and spacers.
There's just a handful of alloys that do fit straight on safely with no need for longer bolts, studs and spacers and 17" Mercedes alloys aren't one of them.
Remember by fitting alloys with standard length studs and bolts you lose at least 10mm of thread due to the thickness of the alloy...hence why longer studs and bolts are required to compensate for the thickness of the alloys.
The OE Carat alloys aren't affected by this because they use a taper seated bolt/nut which allows the nuts/bolts to sit deeper into the alloy thus regaining the required thread length.

Re: What 17" Merc Wheels
But the bolt seats on these wheels are recessed and tapered! Ive got two threads protruding from my rear studs after the bolt heads. if they were any longer they'd be hangin out of the bolt hole!

Mercedes wheels are radius seated...not tapered.
Example:

Some bolt holes on aftermarket Mercedes wheels are as much as 25mm thicker compared to a T25 steel wheel.
Has your van already got longer rear studs fitted...it certainly sounds that way?
