Hi I am thinking of changing my van and getting a 2.1 automatic and was wondering what sort of mpg would I get with it. Also I have heard that if the gearbox packs in they are like hens teeth and really expensive to replace is this true.
Thanks
Donnie

Re: mpg question
21-22mpg, gearbox is same as an Audi 80 auto of the same vintage. All gearboxes are expensive to replace.

I got a 2.1 manual. Get no more than 24mpg on a motorway, driving carefully. I had my gearbox reconditioned nearly 2 years ago — cost £700 including fitting, which I thought was a decent price.
