Power Steering pump Q!

Post by mrhutch »

Just fitting an AGG into a T3.

The JX has v belt for water pump and the AGG has flat belts.

Would rather use the AGG ribbed belts and better/higher amperage alternator and belts.

However, the power steering pumps/brackets are different.

Is it possible to mix and match pulleys and keep the whole AGG set up? The pumps have differing fixings to the JX banjos but need to get new lines made anyway so can get AGG ends put on anyway.

Same block as Tdis so wondering what some of you chaps with them or AAZs did!

Any advice/abuse regarding flexi lines? Anyone know the length of them? Can i just leave the JX ones in place and rub flexis length of van?

When I was looking at this sort of thing it was recommended to use the existing set up, in your case AGG. Then get the pipes made up to suit at Pirtek.

If you are interested in selling the old JX pump, Brackets and bottom pulley I would be interested. As I want to get my PAS working again, pm me.

If using JX engine mounts I'd be interested to hear about clearance between the PAS pump and the R/H bar. I've heard this sometimes is a problem.
